About Technology and Education

Today, technology permits forms of communication never thought of before. Technology has open new ways of teaching and learning, at the time it has started to change the roles of both teachers and learners.

The use of digital learning tools in education can promote students engagement while helpng teachers improve their lesson plans, facilitating a different and more individualized way of teaching and learning. It also helps students to build skills which turn to be essential nowadays.

In my case, I need to face there were times I was a bit afraid of what we could call “hard technology”. That is, I thought of myself as an average user of the devices I used on a daily basis, such as the mobile phone, pc, etc… But when it came to get used to more technical applications or devices, I somehow got frozen and felt unable to put my hands on overcoming my lack of knowledge.

There later came times when I just needed to solve this issue due to professional requirements, and that need made me change my view on the subject.

Now that I am trying to become a teacher and see how helpful IT tools may be in education, I am quite happy to have been able to put all my efforts in adapting myself. I think I understood there is no need to hurry. Just try, make mistakes and solve them to finally move on.

My secret: take it easy and enjoy the walk.
